MedPro Rx has awarded 78 scholarships in 31 states totaling $72,000 this year for students living with bleeding disorders through its “Education is Power” scholarship program. Despite tough economic conditions, the pharmacy increased the number of scholarships by 11 and gave $12,000 more than 2008.
Since starting its “Education is Power” scholarship program in 2006, MedPro Rx has distributed $207,000 to students nationwide who have either hemophilia or von Willebrand Disease. The annual scholarships are open to United States residents who are living with hemophilia or von Willebrand disease, entering or attending a community college, junior college, four-year college, university or vocational school, and are actively contributing to their communities.
