July 15, 2009 — Mark Poteet, CFO of the pharmacy, was recognized as one of the Triangle’s most successful corporate financial stewards by the Triangle Business Journal at the “CFO of the Year Awards” event on July 14 at the Embassy Suites in Cary, N.C. Poteet was honored in the small, private business category as an outstanding finance executive. Profiles of the winners were published in the July 17 issue of the paper.
“It is an honor to receive such a prestigious award,” said Poteet. “I feel privileged to receive this award among some of the most prominent and successful CFOs in the Triangle.”
As CFO, Mark formulated its unique business model and the company’s internal structure. He is responsible for the pharmacy’s strategic development and fueling expansion, ensuring that goals and overall strategy reflect the MedPro Rx vision. In a company that has seen revenue increase from $2.56 million in 2004 to $43.2 million 2008—a growth of more than 1,688 percent in just four years—aligning growth with the corporate vision to maintain focus is critical for continued success. In charge of planning, budgeting, and distributing all financial donations, he led the development of MedPro Rx’s “Education is Power” scholarship program. Poteet also participates in various hemophilia fund raising events throughout the year and serves as a financial advisor on the board of the Kinsale Foundation and the Kinsale Fire Department both in Virginia.
