October 5, 2011 – RALEIGH, N.C. – Nancy McFarlane, president of MedPro Rx, and mayor pro tem of Raleigh, will be inducted into the YWCA Academy of Women on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the 29th Annual Academy of Women Awards.
“The YWCA is an important organization that provides vital services to families in our community. It is an honor to be included among the distinguished members of the Academy of Women,” said McFarlane. “These leaders have played an important role in empowering women across the Triangle, and I look forward to continuing that tradition.”
Established in 1983, the Academy of Women is a distinguished membership group of 256 remarkable women who excel in their fields while maintaining a strong commitment to the YWCA mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. McFarlane, will be honored in the business category.
