November 2008 —Nancy McFarlane, president of Medpro Rx, was featured on the cover of the November issue of Boom! Magazine. The “Fifty & Fabulous” profile highlights McFarlane’s accomplishments both as a valuable entrepreneur and Raleigh City Councilor.
“I am honored to be considered fifty and fabulous by Boom! Magazine,” McFarlane said. “Since its inception, this publication has served as an excellent resource for active adults in North Carolina”
Boom! Magazine is a monthly lifestyle resource for inspiring, motivating, educating and delighting readers with a vigorous new image for the second phase of their life. Each month, Boom! Magazine features an inspirational person over the age of 50 in their magazine and on their Web site as lifestyle resource for today’s active adult in North Carolina.
Under McFarlane’s leadership and management, MedPro Rx has grown into a business with more than $43 million in projected annual revenue this year. McFarlane leads the business strategy of MedPro Rx, focusing on responsive, clinically oriented client services while supporting the pharmacy’s “Education is Power” scholarship program and other community outreach programs. To date, the program has awarded more than $135,000 in scholarships to students nationwide.
After her election to the Raleigh City Council in 2007, McFarlane quickly became known as a strong advocate of water conservation and storm water issues. She was a key player in the development of the Water Conservation Council, a group of community representatives working to create an educational campaign to inform the public of the importance of water conservation, and now serves as the organization’s co-chair.
