The 2010 MedPro Rx scholarship application is available on our Web site by clicking this link. People with hemophilia or von Willebrand disease are encouraged to apply. At least 20 scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500 will be awarded. Last year 79 scholarships totaling $79,000 were given to students in 31 states. Since 2006, $207,000 in scholarships have been awarded to students nationwide.
Here is what our scholarship coordinator has to say about the program: “With the proper education, a student will have plentiful job opportunities,” said Kathy Robinette-Stoneberg. “Normally a person with a good job will have health insurance options that will allow them the freedom of access to health care and prescription benefits, which are much needed by persons with bleeding disorders.
