The 2010 Winter Paralympics came to a close earlier this week on March 21. There are a number of amazing stories of how people have overcome major obstacles in their lives to compete in the worldwide sporting event. Jacqui Kapinowski, of New Jersey, is one of those athletes, who has stiff man syndrome or stiff person syndrome, but was able to participate in the Wheelchair Curling event.
Unfortunately, the United States Wheelchair curling team fell short in the bronze medal match against Sweden 5 -7. Overall the team finished with a 7-4 record which was much better than their 2-5 record from the 2006 Torino games.
