For the fifth year the National Hemophilia Foundation and the Center for Biomedical Continuing Education are holding two summits for people with hemophilia and their families to be educated on the most up to date information about hemophilia. The summits are sponsored by Novo Nordisk with funds from their education grants. The first of the summits was held in Hollywood, CA and the second is taking place in Washington DC September 17 -20. Aside from the topics of physical and psychological health, nutrition, and finances the summits have a special focus on inhibitors. Inhibitors are antibodies that build up in a person’s bloodstream and neutralize or prevent the replacement clotting factor from working properly.
